Fundraising Support Specialists can do all or some of the following activities
depending on the volunteers skills and interests:

- sell tickets to events
- secure raffle prizes and silent auction items
- Organize fundraising events independently
- Assist with Third Party Fundraisers
- Solicit donations
- Help with the chocolate bar drive
- Other support roles as needed within the organization

Hours: 4-8 hours a month

- Mail out membership cards and letters
- Contact members as needed
This is not actually a volunteer position within the organization, but it is
crucial to the growth and viability of the BDAF. Third Party Fundraising is
when you throw a party, event, special evening, etc and donate the
proceeds to the BDAF. We can then issue you a donation receipt for
whatever is raised and donated at the party. For example, if John Doe
raises $500.00 by having a party and asking each guest to pay $10.00 at
the door, then we can issue John Doe a $500.00 donation receipt.
Some great ways to throw a third party fundraiser are to talk to a restaurant
about donating a portion of proceeds from one night, a house/dinner/BBQ
party in which guests make a donation at the door, a games night, a poker
night, comedy club charity night etc.
