Government guidelines are very strict about what can be receipted and what cannot.
The Markham Islanders are a team of disabled athletes, but not a registered charity.
For this event proceeds are being split between their team and the Better Day Alliance
Foundation. Therefore, receipts cannot be issued as some of the proceeds (most
likely 55%) are not going to a charity, even though it is still a great cause! If you wish
to make a donation to the BDAF it is of course 100% receiptable, however the funds
could not be used for this event. We hope this does not discourage people from being
generous as this is a great event with two great winners!
